Terms of use
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of currents, available at trends.currentsplatform.com (the “Service”). currents is part of the Currents platform and is operated by CoStudio Pte Ltd (UEN 202127467N) (“CoStudio”, “we”, “our”, “us”), a company registered in Singapore at 68 Circular Road, #02-01, Singapore 049422.
By signing in to or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you are authorised to bind that organisation, and “you” refers to both you and that organisation.
The Currents platform's general Terms of Service also apply. Where they conflict with these Terms, these Terms govern your use of currents.
2. The Service
currents is an audience intelligence product for newsrooms and publishers. It provides analysis of publicly available trending data from social video, delivered as briefs, dashboards and a chat interface.
The Service is read-only and built on public data. It does not ask you to connect a YouTube, Google or social account, and it does not act on any account on your behalf.
We may add, change or remove features, impose usage limits, or suspend the Service for maintenance at any time.
3. Eligibility and accounts
Access to the Service is by invitation. To use it you must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.
- Provide accurate information and keep it current.
- Keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity under your account.
- Do not share your account or transfer it to anyone else.
- Tell us immediately at hello@currentsplatform.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
4. YouTube API Services
currents uses YouTube API Services to obtain public information about trending videos. By using currents, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.
Information Google collects is handled under the Google Privacy Policy. How we handle the public video data the Service is built on is described in our Privacy Policy.
Videos, titles, thumbnails, channel names and comments shown in the Service belong to their respective owners and remain subject to YouTube's terms. You must not use them in a way that breaches those terms.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service in violation of applicable law or these Terms;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, models or datasets behind the Service;
- resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written consent;
- access the Service by automated means (scrapers, bots, crawlers), or extract data from it in bulk, beyond what we expressly permit;
- use the Service to build a competing product or dataset;
- circumvent usage limits, or interfere with the Service or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any systems or accounts; or
- use the Service to transmit malware, spam, or unlawful content.
6. AI-generated analysis
Parts of the Service — including summaries, briefs and chat responses — are generated with third-party AI models. AI-generated output can be incomplete or wrong. It is provided to inform your editorial judgement, not to replace it: verify any insight independently before acting on it or publishing it.
7. Intellectual property
The Service — including software, analyses, scoring models and design — is owned by CoStudio Pte Ltd or our licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your internal business purposes while you have access to it.
Nothing in these Terms transfers intellectual property rights to you, and you may not use our names, logos or trademarks without our prior written consent.
8. Your content
You retain ownership of the messages, prompts and other content you submit to the Service. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host and process it solely to operate and improve the Service. You are responsible for having the rights to anything you submit.
We do not use your content to train any AI model.
9. Fees
Where access to the Service is paid, fees are billed as described in your order form or agreement with us. Fees are non-refundable except as expressly stated there or as required by law.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any signal, score or analysis will be accurate or complete.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CoStudio Pte Ltd will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the fees you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or S$100, whichever is greater.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify CoStudio Pte Ltd against claims, damages and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of third-party rights.
13. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, where your use puts the Service or our obligations to upstream providers at risk, or where required by law.
On termination your licence to use the Service ends. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 7, 10, 11 and 12) survive.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
15. Changes and contact
We may update these Terms; the date above reflects the current version, and material changes will be notified through the Service. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it.
